Who are we?
ThinWallsTalk.com was founded by two Internet and marketing professionals with a combined total of over 10 years experience in the online apartment industry.
Why did we create this site?
While many apartment communities use online services to reach potential residents, few have harnessed the power of the Internet to benefit residents. So instead of waiting for apartment communities to create spaces for residents to communicate online, ThinWallsTalk.com give residents an online communication platform now.
How do I get a posting removed?
If you feel a comment violates our User Agreement, please send a message to staff@thinwallstalk.com with the Username, Date, and Title of the message you would like examined.
A posting may be removed if, in our judgement, it violates our User Agreement. Common examples of postings that we've removed content in the past include postings that contain: personally-identifying information, profanity and obscenity, spam, or hateful speech directed at a protected class. Please note: we don't remove postings simply because one party feels the information is untrue or unfair. Our rules are fairly simple: no personal attacks, no profanity, and no spam.
Who is liable for postings on this site?
Per Federal law (47 USC Section 230), only the original author is liable for damage caused by their postings. For example, if a party felt a posting was defamatory, they would have to sue the author of the offending posting. Upon the judgement of a court, the posting may be removed. A suit (or threat of suit) against ThinWallsTalk.com is assured to be a fruitless exercise (as it has been when attempted against America Online, EBay, and Amazon.com).
As a passive conduit that allows users to directly post content to the WWW, ThinWallsTalk.com bears no liability for the content of the postings (even if we choose to exercise our discretion to delete or edit reviews to limit their harm).
